10 Easy Tips to
Drinking More Water
We all know how important it is to drink water. But yet 99% of people don’t drink enough water. We would rather be busy consuming tasty carbonated beverages, caffeine, energy drinks, and alcohol.
Did you know, that we should be drinking at least eight 8-ounce glasses of water daily? If can believe it, that is 2 quarts of water. And if you are overweight, that means that you need to drink one more additional glass of water for every 25 pounds of excess weight. On top of that, if you are exercising heavily or if you’re out in the sun working up a sweat, you should be increasing your water intake. Dehydration is the enemy !!
By adding at least one of these tips to your daily routine you will be on your way to looking and feeling much healthier.
10. When you first wake up, Drink 2 glasses of water immediately
9. Add two glasses of water to each meal. This is best done before and after the meal. A good habit to add, with every snack, drink one full glass of water.
8. Deny yourself that diet soda or energy drink until you’ve had at least two glasses of water.
7. Before drinking a glass of juice, (grape, orange, etc) first fill your glass half full of water.
6. Add a glass of water to the different periods in your day: When you wake up, leave the house for work; sit down at your desk, etc.
5. When on the go, carry with you a refillable water bottle at all times and take drinks when things are slow; waiting in the line at the bank, waiting for the bus, waiting for the computer guy to fix your printer, etc.
4. If you’re at the office get a large cup of ice and keep replenishing it from the water cooler or fountain. Here the key is drinking with a straw – you end up taking bigger slugs and drink much faster.
3. Try drinking two glasses during your skin care routine. Drink a glass, do your cleanser, and moisturizer, then drink the second glass.
2. Try to keep a big insulated water bottle at your desk at work, so you can be reaching for it all day.
1. While at home, keep a 24-ounce bottle within reach while you are enjoying your favorite activities or chores. (TV, laundry, fixing dinner, etc)
